The 12th Annual Kalamazoo Irish Fest will be held at the beautiful Arcadia Creek Festival Place in downtown Kalamazoo, June 22-23. Festival hours on Friday are from 4:30 p.m. to midnight and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight. Admission is $7.00 and children aged 13 and under accompanied by an adult are free. All active service people w/ ID are also free.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is preparing an interactive exhibit, Thank God for Michigan! Stories from the Civil War, which opens June 13, in recognition of the date the first local soldiers left to join the battle. It showcases more than 100 artifacts from the museum's vast collection – uniforms, weapons, photographs, letters and more and tells the personal stories of Michigan’s involvement in the historic conflict. It will examine the causes and impacts of the war from national, regional and personal perspectives.
